Whether you're starting your first semester at Moorpark College or meeting the requirements to be "transfer ready," knowing about the transfer process is key! Attend this one-hour Zoom workshop for an informative overview of the transfer process. Learn about the different transfer college/university systems - UC, CSU, HBCU, Private, and Out-of-State. We will discuss requirements, deadlines, guarantees and more!

The University of California Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) offers, guaranteed admissions at one of the six participating UC campuses, as long as you complete the major prep requirements with their required minimum GPA:
- UC Davis
- UC Irvine
- UC Merced
- UC Riverside
- UC Santa Barbara
- UC Santa Cruz

Attend a UC Transfer Workshop for application assistance. Applications for fall 2027 are open October 1, 2026 - November 30, 2026. The application workshop is designed for Moorpark College students who plan to apply to transfer to any of the nine (9) University of California campuses: Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz.
UC Berkeley and UC Merced operate on a semester system, all others follow the quarter system 10-week periods.

- Oct 2026 - Nov 30, 2026: Attend an online CSU Application Workshop.
- Oct 1, 2026 - Nov 30, 2026: Attend an in-person CSU Application Review Drop-in, FH110.
- Oct 1, 2026 - Nov 30, 2026 (some CSU's have extended their deadline): Submit your CSU Application.
- Oct 1, 2026 - Feb 1, 2027: Schedule an appointment to petition for graduation and/or CSU GE/IGETC/Cal-GETC certification with an academic counselor. Phone:(805) 378-1428
- Oct 1, 2026 - Mar 1, 2027: Submit the 2027 - 2028 FAFSA or CA Dream Act App (This is for the Fall 2027 application).
- Dec 2026 - Aug 2027: Monitor university portals and the email address on your application. Please respond promptly to inquiries.
- Jan 2027: Update your CSU Application.
- Jan 2027: Check transcript deadlines for each CSU, as some CSU’s request official transcripts at the beginning of Spring as well as at the end of Spring.
- May 1, 2027 Accept the CSU’s offer of admission by submitting your Intent to Enroll.
- June 2027 - July 15, 2027: Submit your final transcripts, AP/IB scores, and other requested materials to the CSU that you will be attending in the fall.
- June 2027 - Aug 2027: Verify that your CSU GE/IGETC/Cal-GETC has been conferred and placed onto your official VCCCD transcript. You may need to resubmit to your CSU, another official VCCCD transcript to include the CSU GE/IGETC/Cal-GETC certification.
- August 1-30, 2026: Start your UC TAG Application (if applicable).
- Sept 1, 2026 - Sept 30, 2026: Attend an online UC TAG Application workshop.
- Sept 1, 2026 - Sept 30, 2026: Submit UC TAG (through UC TAP).

Choosing a Major and Career Courses
Are you interested in learning more about majors, careers, occupations, and industries? Get familiar with different resources that can help you with the career decision-making process. Enroll in one of our Counseling courses designed to help you.
COUN M02 - Career and Life Planning (3 units)
Provides a thorough study for career development, academic goals, and life planning. Includes assessment tools for identifying personality type; clarifying interests, skills, and values; and establishing college majors and careers. Addresses psychological and social issues that impact career and life choices. Covers decision-making processes, labor market trends, career research, interviewing skills, and résumé writing. UC Credit Limitations: COL M01, COUN M01, COUN M01H, COUN M02, COUN M05, COUN M10, COUN M23, LS M03 combined: maximum credit, 3 units. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
COUN M20 - Self-Paced Career Assessment (0.50 unit)
Introduces online self-assessment tools to identify and prioritize values, interests, skills, and personality attributes in a self-paced format culminating in options for college majors and/or future careers. Includes assignments and activities to help narrow down career options to a manageable size and to strategize next steps congruent with individual goals and objectives. Transfer credit: CSU. Formerly: COUN M60C.
